Product Design Lead Job at HTEC Group in Cupertino

We are seeking a highly experienced Product Design Lead to join our client’s product team. This role is critical in driving the design vision across a diverse product portfolio and ensuring high-quality design execution that aligns with strategic goals. The Product Design Lead will manage and support a distributed team of 13 designers, while actively collaborating with product stakeholders and the Human Interface (HI) team.

Key Responsibilities :

Design Leadership & Strategy

Define and maintain a clear strategic vision for product design across the portfolio.

Drive a user-centered design culture and advocate for design excellence throughout the product lifecycle.

Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure design aligns with product goals and user needs.

Team Management & Coordination

Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of 13 designers across multiple product streams.

Coordinate workload, task assignments, and career development in collaboration with delivery and project management leads.

Foster a collaborative and feedback-driven team environment, promoting best practices in design and usability.

Design Quality & Consistency

Own the quality assurance process for design deliverables, ensuring consistency with design systems, brand guidelines, and accessibility standards.

Provide hands-on guidance, critiques, and final approvals for key design outputs.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Serve as the main point of contact between the design team and product stakeholders.

Work closely with the HI (Human Interface) team to ensure alignment with broader design guidelines and platform standards.

Represent the design function in leadership and planning discussions, contributing to prioritization and roadmap development.

Qualifications & Skills

7+ years of experience in product design, with at least 3 years in a design leadership role.

Proven track record of leading cross-functional design teams in fast-paced environments.

Deep understanding of design systems, UX / UI best practices, and accessible design.

Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience working with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and QA.

Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, team leadership, and high-quality design execution.

Experience working in agile environments and with global teams is a plus.
