Overview

Electrolit Manufacturing USA (EMUSA) is a new, state-of-the-art beverage manufacturing facility currently under construction in Waco, TX. The 640,000 sq ft facility is located in Texas Central Industrial Park and will operate on a 24 / 7 schedule with a target start date of January 2026. The facility will manufacture and distribute the 26 flavors of Electrolit TM, the fastest growing isotonic hydration beverage in the US.

Position Summary

The Factory Automation Specialist is responsible for supporting and enhancing our smart manufacturing infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of digital modeling, automation systems, and advanced material handling technologies such as Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs), SCADA systems, and Digital Twin simulators across the organization. As part of a cross-functional engineering team, the Factory Automation Specialist will collaborate with automation specialists, process engineers, and IT professionals to implement scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency, increase data visibility, and drive innovation. This position will handle sensitive information and will require an NDA. The Factory Automation Specialist will report to the Automation and Controls Engineer of the Company.

Principal Duties

  • Develop and maintain digital models creating and supporting digital representations of manufacturing processes using simulation tools and digital twin technologies of Rockwell Automation.
  • Integrate LGV and material handling technologies; ensure smooth operation and connectivity of Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs) with manufacturing workflows and control systems.
  • Support automation systems : troubleshoot, configure, and enhance automation platforms including PLCs, SCADA systems, and process control software.
  • Collaborate across engineering and IT departments as a multidisciplinary team to implement integrated solutions that improve production reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Analyze data for system optimization : collecting and interpreting operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for performance improvements.
  • Document processes and technical workflows : creating clear and concise documentation, including user guides, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by participating in cross-functional efforts aimed at modernizing systems, enhancing automation, and adopting Industry 4.0 practices.
  • Work closely with operations teams to resolve LGV-related issues that impact production efficiency, delivering hands-on troubleshooting and fast recovery solutions to maintain workflow continuity and uptime targets.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technical personnel, fostering skill development and enforcing safe and efficient work practices.
  • Perform other automation-related duties as assigned by management, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Controls & Robotics or equivalent education / experience.
  • An electrical background, and advanced experience and knowledge of PLC, HMI & SCADA programming.
  • 5 years of experience with Automated System Controls (Allen Bradley and / or Siemens).
  • 3 years of experience with Industrial protocol communications (Ethernet, Profinet).
  • Familiarity with digital modeling technologies or simulation software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Other Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time.
