Position Summary
The ADON assists the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Department. This role ensures the highest degree of quality resident care is provided in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the DON in managing daily nursing operations and staff supervision
- Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff across all shifts
- Foster a positive, collaborative team atmosphere within the nursing division
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Liaise with residents, families, and interdisciplinary departments to meet resident needs
- Assist with state reporting, surveys, and development/implementation of Plans of Correction
- Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Maintain knowledge of long-term care practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Uphold company policies, including compliance and harassment procedures
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all interactions
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Supervisory experience in a long-term care setting
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Ability to teach, coach, and lead by example on all shifts
- Thorough knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey processes
