Civil Estimator

Cedar Park Group is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in civil estimating and the ability to analyze project plans, develop detailed takeoffs, and collaborate with project managers to produce competitive and accurate bids.

Position Overview

The Civil Estimator will be responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, and developing comprehensive cost estimates for civil construction work. This role works closely with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and the operations team to ensure accurate project budgets and successful bid submissions.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with site development and civil construction scopes including excavation, utilities, grading, drainage, asphalt, and concrete. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of civil construction estimating experience

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

• Experience with site work, excavation, utilities, grading, drainage, asphalt, and concrete

• Knowledge of CSI divisions and construction documentation

• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing cost estimates

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for civil construction projects

• Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs

• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes

• Develop comprehensive project estimates and budgets

• Work closely with project managers and operations teams to ensure competitive bids

• Evaluate project scope and identify potential cost risks or savings opportunities

• Maintain organized estimating documentation and bid records
