VMware ESXi Engineer

A company is looking for an ESXi Engineer to support a hybrid cloud infrastructure modernization project.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with client stakeholders to assess and document the current VMware environment, identifying misconfigurations and improvement opportunities

Optimize and validate a vSphere 8 deployment on VxRail and lead patching and reboot strategies across a 6-node cluster

Provide recommendations for AVS upgrade strategies and maintain updated technical documentation throughout the engagement

Required Qualifications

Proven experience with VMware ESXi and vSphere 7 / 8 in enterprise environments

Hands-on knowledge of Dell VxRail systems and integrated deployments

Experience performing patching, updates, and rolling reboots in clustered VMware environments

Deep understanding of DR planning, vMotion, and hybrid cloud alignment strategies

Experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and VMware Update Manager / Lifecycle Manager
