Job descriptionDevelops and implements individualized dental care plans for patients; performs patient education, discharge planning, and patient / family teaching under the supervision of a qualified dentist. Assesses dental condition and needs of patient; uses patient screening procedures, to include medical history review, dental charting, and periodic charting; takes patient vital signs as required. Delivers direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established dental hygienist procedures; performs routine treatment procedures, such as cleaning, polishing, x-rays, application of sealants and fluorides, injections, and related procedures. Documents dental history or chief complaint; records and reports pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff, as appropriate; documents lab procedures and ensures follow-up on results. Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment of patients. Assists in the preparation of patient care areas. Knowledge of Federal, State, and institutional regulations and guidelines for the provision of dental outpatient services. Ability to independently assess the nature and extent of dental, periodontic, and associated conditions and pathology in dental outpatients. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. Ability to perform a full range of established dental hygienist protocols and procedures. Ability to analyze medical records and prescribed protocol to formulate effective therapeutic treatment plans. Knowledge and understanding of dental surgery and associated procedures, terminology, and techniques. Promotes effective working relations and work effectively as part of a team to facilitate the Clinics ability to meet its goals and objectives. Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the Clinics overall mission. Responsibly follows the Clinic Exposure Control Plans / Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment. All other duties as assigned. Medical and Prescription Drug Coverage : Three comprehensive plan options (Buy-up, Base, and High Deductible) through UnitedHealthcare's Choice Plus network, covering various deductibles and out-of-pocket limits. Includes access to telemedicine services via Teladoc. Health Savings Account (HSA) : Available for employees in the High Deductible Plan with employer contributions and tax advantages. Flexible Spending Account (FSA) : Options for both healthcare and dependent care FSAs, allowing pre-tax contributions for qualified expenses. Dental and Vision Coverage : Dental insurance through Cignas DPPO network and vision coverage through EyeMeds Insight network. Retirement Plan : Pre-tax and Roth 403(b) retirement plans with a 5% employer match starting after 30 days of employment. Life and Disability Insurance : Basic Life and AD&D insurance provided at no cost, with the option to purchase additional coverage. Long-term and short-term disability insurance are also available. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) : Free confidential support for personal and professional challenges, including counseling and crisis intervention. Additional Voluntary Benefits : Options for critical illness, accident, hospital care, and pet insurance through MetLife. Nine paid holidays per year. Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program. Current MO licensure as a Dental Hygienist.
