Mechanical Installation Technician

A Mechanical Installation Technician for Bastian Solutions is a hands-on position focusing on the mechanical installations of both large- and small-scale conveyor, robotic, automation, and commercial mechanical systems. In this position, you would be expected to learn and perform duties and tasks assigned to you daily. This position requires continuous travel to client sites for the installation of material handling systems.

This position requires up to 90% travel and will be at a site from 4 weeks to several months depending on the project.

Responsibilities :

• Safely complete daily tasks assigned to you by site leadership in a timely manner and to desired expectations and outcomes.
• Perform or assist in mechanical installation work under direct supervision of a more senior Installer, such as a Lead or Supervisor.
• Learn how to handle basic issues and troubleshoot a system.
• Learn or increase knowledge of basic installation and site safety requirements.
• Learn proper hardware usage.
• Assist in and learn installation methods.
• Learn troubleshooting methods and techniques.
• Apply learned skills to job duties.
• Assist more senior personnel in electrical installations, connections, and terminations under close supervision.
• Perform other project related duties and assignments as instructed by a supervisor or more senior employee.
• Escalate higher-level concerns to a supervisor.
• Up to 90% travel.
