Position Overview

The asphalt grounds person is responsible for safely performing a variety of duties to assist at an asphalt plant. This position involves various manual tasks. Work will be performed per the supervisors instruction, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs. This position will require working at heights.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Plant Laborer :

• Participates in daily THINK / TRACK meetings plus weekly safety meetings.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
• Assists in plant production of materials and ensures the efficient working condition of the plant.
• Walk and monitor the asphalt plant while in production to identify any issues.
• Performs daily maintenance pre-checks on the plant and equipment.
• Ensures that all assigned equipment is properly maintained, clean, in a safe working order, and operated properly.
• Prepares plant for operations at the beginning of the season and performs shut down procedures at the end of the season.
• Operates front end loader, skidsteer, end dump truck, and other heavy equipment as needed.
• Performs plant maintenance and repairs as needed.
