Description : Two contractor Registered Nurse positions for second shift hours. Working hours would be 1 : 30 PM to 9 : 30 PM, five days a week. Every third week, weekend work will be required, with a day before and a day off after. Responsible for the health care of 20-60 bedridden inmates. Duties include making rounds, evaluating care needs, and rendering care. Involves developing care plans and teaching health care principles. Administers medication, including narcotics, and renders direct nursing care as needed. Performs specialized procedures such as IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusion, incubation, CPR, tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy duties. Organizes and oversees 'code blue' team. Directs health care staff assigned to the area. Acts as lead worker in charge of one assigned shift in the absence of a higher-level nurse. Assists physicians in performing diagnostic health evaluations. Performs clerical tasks including charting and recording all medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information. Completes required reports such as incident and accident reports. Documents Medicaid information and orders supplies and equipment. Maintains constant and exact inventory of all controlled drugs and equipment. Arranges for outpatient clinic appointments and medical examinations by physicians. Processes new and refilled prescriptions ordered by physicians through local pharmacies. Performs administrative tasks and serves as a liaison with others in the organization. Conducts or attends meetings as required. May serve as an instructor on occasion. Serves as a member or leader of problem-solving teams or groups.
