- This position will support the agency's mission by maintaining and repairing highways, bridges, and related infrastructure to ensure public safety and transportation efficiency.
- It will involve the use of construction tools and equipment, performing vehicle inspections and maintenance, and working in diverse outdoor conditions.

District Six / South Dade Maintenance Office / Traffic Services #1 / 14655 SW 122 Ave., Miami, FL 33186Annual Salary Range : $36,651.68 - $47,431.59. A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $1,934.40 will be added to the annual salary.
Your specific responsibilities :
Upon receipt of the required CDL Instructional Permit or License; Operates a variety of vehicles and mechanized equipment to include backhoe, tractors with attachments, crew cabs, and dump truck.Performs pre-trip inspection / minor maintenance on vehicles / equipment that they are operating. Cleans and washes equipment.Uses a variety of hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools to maintain bridges and roadways.Performs independent manual labor incidental to job assignments at an intermediate level of complexity with minimal supervision.Performs rough carpentry, masonry, painting and / or assist in the assembly and erection of highway signs.Performs Maintenance of Traffic control.The successful candidate will have the following required knowledge, skills, and abilities :
Knowledge of typical construction measuring tools, equipment, or instruments and standard safety techniques.Skills in operating a variety of hand and power tools.Operating and performing pre-trip inspection / minor maintenance on vehicles and / or mechanized equipment that they are operating.Ability to read and understand job-related materials and fill out reports and forms.Ability to maintain and repair highways, bridges, and / or other highway structures.Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, including following oral / written instructions.Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.Ability to lift, carry, and handle up to 50 pounds.Ability to stoop, climb, squat, push, pull, crawl or bend on a frequent basis.Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, on various terrains and at various heights or in high volume traffic.Ability to stand for an extended period of time, operate motor vehicles and other mechanical equipment.Other job-related requirements :
Due to the nature of this position, incumbent must respond to emergencies and be "on-call" (24-hour duty) when necessary.While on-duty status, the positions incumbent must be readily available to operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV), consistent with the type of commercial driver's license (CDL) the incumbent is required to possess.The incumbent of this position is required to work with or around Department of Corrections inmates.Obtain certification in Maintenance of Traffic - Intermediate Level within one year and maintain it.Possess a valid Class "E" driver's license and obtain a Class "B" CDL Instructional Permit within 60 days of appointment to position and obtain a valid Class "B" CDL with air brakes within 10 months of appointment to the position.This position requires a valid Class (E) driver license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the Department's Driver's Record Requirements Policy.Minimum qualifications :
