What your day looks like
You start by loading a precision-machined component onto a Hexagon CMM. Using PC‑DMIS and MCOSMOS, you refine a program, verify fixturing for repeatability, and run a first-article inspection. Before lunch, you collaborate with machinists to adjust a setup based on your GD&T analysis. In the afternoon, you complete a PPAP submission, audit control plans for compliance with AS9100, and close out an MSA study to validate gage performance. You wrap up by documenting results and updating the inspection plan—leaving the cell clean and safe for the next shift.
What you'll do
- Develop and edit CMM programs for machined components using PC‑DMIS and MCOSMOS.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and technical documents to define inspection strategy.
- Select and validate fixturing, tooling, and setups to ensure accurate, repeatable measurement.
- Review and verify inspection / testing results against drawings and specifications.
- Lead measurement system analysis (MSA) and gage R&R to confirm measurement validity.
- Create and maintain quality documentation : control plans, inspection plans, FAI, and PPAP per customer requirements.
- Ensure projects and process control documentation meet all requirements, objectives, and contract obligations.
- Partner with engineers, machinists, and quality control personnel across functions to solve problems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following company safety guidelines.
- Take on additional related duties as assigned.
