Job description

Senior Bridge Engineer

Our client in Rochester, NY is seeking a direct hire Senior Bridge Engineer. Salary : $100k-135K DOE

Responsibilities :

  • Project management and engineering, from conception to completion, including proposal preparation, design and construction documents, and construction administration under the guidance of senior managers
  • Prepare calculations and design documents including the assembly of plans and specifications for public advertisement and bidding
  • Develop contract specifications and preparation of contract bid documents
  • Review design criteria using relevant codes and standards
  • Perform and review calculations using various software and / or hand calculations
  • Review and provide Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) for project engineering deliverables
  • Develop and supervise the preparation of cost estimates for construction documents

Qualifications :

  • BS Civil Engineering
  • New York State Professional Engineer (PE) required
  • 10 or more years of experience related to bridge engineering design and management
  • Must have preliminary and final design and plan production experience
  • Bridge load rating experience is a plus
  • Experience and familiarity with computer drafting and structural analysis software
  • A sound knowledge of AASHTO and NYSDOT Standard Specifications
  • Knowledge of NYSDOT's Locally Administered Federal Aid project process for highway and bridge projects a plus
  • Good writing and strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team to execute tasks in order to complete projects on time and budget

    Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to) : $100,000.00 - $135,000.00
