Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Estimated Weekly Pay : $2100-$2250 Assignment Length : 13-week contract (option to extend) Start Date : November 24, 2025 Location : Observation Unit, Wausau, WI 54401 Healthcare Setting : Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit Shift : 12-hour variable shifts (day / night) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and every other holiday required Charting System : EPIC EMR Scrub Colors : Any color Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Wisconsin RN license (Registered Nurse) BLS and ACLS certifications required Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing Minimum 3 years of RN experience, including at least 1 prior travel nursing assignment Clinical experience in observation units, stepdown, or MS / Tele units Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips (EKG exam required during compliance) Proficiency with EPIC charting system Strong adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage change in a clinical environment Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the observation and cardiac stepdown unit (8 beds, 1 : 4 nurse-to-patient ratio) Float to all inpatient units as needed to support patient care Efficiently manage patient admissions and discharges in a high-volume setting Care for patients with a range of conditions, including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, urology, GI, and those requiring drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Demonstrate flexibility and a positive attitude in a fast-paced healthcare environment Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR Apply now to join our healthcare team as a Cardiac Stepdown RN in Wausau, Wisconsin, and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
