Highways & Roads Market Sector Director

Primary Responsibilities

Market Sector Directors (MSD) drive our business within HDR's matrix management structure. The H&R market sector is the largest, generating nearly $1B in annual revenue globally. It includes clients operating highways, toll roads, and bridge structures, with services such as bridge and highway design, traffic engineering, transportation planning, and tolling.

The responsibilities are divided into three main areas :

• Market leadership and business development (~70%)
• Staff development (20%)
• Support to Operations (10%)

The Director sets the vision for HDR’s strategy in this sector, supports growth initiatives, develops staff, and maintains relationships with clients and industry organizations worldwide. They oversee business development, client management, staff growth, and operational support, ensuring project delivery and quality standards are met.
