Body Imaging Fellowship at Denver Health

Denver Health is proud to offer a one-year comprehensive body imaging fellowship. We offer outstanding training with a wide range of clinical cases and imaging modalities in a supportive educational environment. All radiology attendings hold academic appointments at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (a separate, but affiliated institution) and are actively involved in teaching students, residents, and fellows.

We are accepting fellow applicants for:

Off cycle applications for the upcoming 2024- 2025 academic year

On cycle applications for the 2025-2026 academic year

Our mission is to provide an excellent educational experience for our fellows covering all aspects of body imaging. All radiology attendings are actively involved in a variety of educational activities. We offer the full spectrum of state-of-the-art imaging at our 7-story outpatient imaging facility and in our 550-bed main in-patient tower which includes a Level 1 trauma center. Both of these facilities are located on the main campus in the heart of downtown Denver. Graduating fellows will receive the necessary training and resources to excel in either academic or private practice settings following completion of the program.

The Organization

Denver Health is well known for its world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center and has one of the highest survival rates in the country. The trauma center sees 18,000 patients annually, resulting in 2,700 admissions and many arrive as transfers from 60 regional hospitals for higher level care.

The scope of our medical services extends well beyond trauma care. We offer the full spectrum of medical services from primary to specialized oncologic care, which continue to grow with our new outpatient facility.

CT - The fellow will be comprehensively trained in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient imaging, including vascular imaging and dual energy. For those interested, cardiac CT training is also available, predominately made up of coronary CTAs.

Ultrasound - The fellow will be trained in a wide variety of general body ultrasound, including liver elastography. The fellow will also receive training in first trimester obstetric, pediatric, and musculoskeletal ultrasound.

PET/CT - The fellow will interpret oncologic FDG PET studies, as well studies using novel radiotracers for prostate cancer (PSMA) and neuroendocrine tumors (DOTATATE).
