The Talent Management Business Partner supports leaders and team members with employee relations, performance management, training, policy interpretation, and organizational development. This role serves as a trusted advisor to managers, helps resolve workplace concerns, co-manages the learning management system, and supports talent initiatives across the organization.
Essential Job Functions
- Respond promptly to manager and team member questions regarding policies, processes, interpersonal issues, and other workplace or talent-related concerns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships through regular interactions with managers to address ongoing talent management needs, policy interpretation and provide guidance on addressing team member concerns, performance challenges, and development needs.
- Collaborate with managers, senior leaders, and Talent Management / TM partners (recruiting, leave / benefits) and departmental leaders to identify root causes of operational challenges, performance gaps, policy violations, or conduct issues misaligned with cultural values. Ensure goals, accountabilities, and outcomes are aligned with organizational strategy.
- Demonstrate strong listening and consultation skills by recommending approaches that support employee development, inclusion, respect, and risk mitigation.
- Consult with department leaders to enhance organizational effectiveness through position design, team structure assessment, and documentation of job routines and measures.
- Work with managers to create and update job descriptions that clearly define essential functions, qualifications, and required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Support managers in promoting employee growth by identifying opportunities for expanded responsibilities and skill development.
- Collaborate with TM and departmental leaders to assess ongoing training needs, identify skill gaps, and design and deliver related training and coaching.
- Partner with TM and clinical Staff Development team to support the Relias Learning Management System.
- Ensure accurate training records, develop training plans, and coordinate content to meet compliance and developmental requirements for leaders and team members.
- Partner with departmental leaders to conduct workplace investigations, including defining objectives, interviewing involved parties, documenting findings, and recommending corrective or developmental actions that are compliant, equitable, consistent, and supportive of operational needs.
- Ensure corrective action and exit processes are documented thoroughly and reasons for termination or resignation are clearly documented (e.g., voluntary resignation, reduction in force, misconduct, performance). Train managers on documentation standards that help support or prevent unemployment or wrongful termination claims.
- Prepare and submit accurate, timely responses to unemployment claims, consulting with managers to confirm circumstances of separation and presenting company evidence and witness statements to support or contest a claim.
- Review and revise TM workflows, communication practices, documentation and policies and procedures—including the Employee Handbook—to recommend best practice approaches for cross-departmental relationships, risk mitigation and strategic alignment.
- Prepare and analyze turnover and employee satisfaction data. Use data to advise leadership on turnover or manager training needs.
- Facilitate the resolution of WeCare Connect notifications and other feedback, identifying trends and communicating results and strengths and opportunities to leadership team.
- Partner with TM teammates on urgent staffing needs, and provide feedback on hiring successes and challenges. Assist with screening and interviewing as needed.
- Cross-train with other TM team members as backup for processes and responsibilities.
- Support corporate Compliance Plan, report potential or actual compliance issues, and model ethical conduct for team members and residents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience :
High School diploma or equivalent, required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Management, or related field, preferred5+ years of experience in human resources, leadership development or operations management, required2+ years of direct experience with employee relations, workplace investigations, management coaching and / or human resources compliance services, requiredCurrent human resources certification, or will need to obtain certification within 12 months of position startKnowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Working knowledge of human resources management best practices, preferably in senior or healthcare services or nonprofit environmentsProficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel; demonstrated experience with using and configuring human resources information systems, preferredExceptional interpersonal approach and oral and written communication skills with team members, managers, residents, and interdisciplinary teams.Excellent organizational and administrative skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentStrong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and evaluate team members and leaders, skilled in investigating and identifying corrective action for resolving workplace conflicts and promoting teamwork.Ability to manage work schedules with attention to responsiveness and optimizing efficiencyAbility to build and maintain professional working relationships with a strong customer service excellence orientation and work compassionately and professionally with employees, residents, vendors, visitors, and the general public.Ability to work as a team or independently and be self-motivated and goal oriented with shared accountabilityAbility to take initiative to solve problems on behalf of team members and leaders and to exercise sound professional judgment appropriately when under pressure or facing opposition or criticism, such as in investigations and emergency situationsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionallyAbility to stand and walk throughout the shift, as well as ability to move about the community to attend meetings, visit team members, and participate in or present at activities as needed.BENEFITS (Full-Time Employees) :
