Job title : Hospital Pharmacy Manager
Schedule : Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Scheduled between 7 : 00am-4 : 30pm
Weekend rotation : Every 4rd Weekend
Holiday rotation : Every 4th Holiday
Position Summary :
The Hospital Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for the daily operations of the hospital pharmacy. The hospital pharmacy manager will ensure that the pharmacy is sufficiently and appropriately staffed, that workflow is optimal, that the hospital pharmacy is compliant with all legal, industry, and accreditation standards; that the services provided to our patients, coworkers, and the medication staff are highly quality and efficiently delivered; and that we optimize our financial performance including effectively and optimally using the 340B drug program.
Position Responsibilities :
- Ensure effective pharmacist and technician coverage to meet the needs of our patient, medical staff and services.
- Supervise and oversee the performance of hospital pharmacy staff.
- Oversee the successful orientation and onboarding of hospital pharmacy staff.
- Participate in the orientation, onboarding, and education support for all nursing and medical staff.
- Provide ongoing training, education and communication required for all employees to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards and 340B program compliance.
- Optimize workflow of the pharmacy, continually evaluate processes for the opportunities to improve efficiency, customer service, and quality.
- Oversee inventory management and provide fiscally responsible purchasing.
- Coordinate and oversee the 340B drug purchasing program for the pharmacy.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures consistent with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and 340B requirements and guidelines.
- Monitor and assess 340B guidelines and / or rule changes, including but not limited to HRSA / OPA rules and Medicaid changes. Ensure that the 340B drug program is continuously compliant with all state and federal regulations.
- Develop, execute and document self-audits of the contract and mixed pharmacy 340B process. Coordinates and ensures remediation of findings.
- Conducts monthly audits of all 340B-eligible contract pharmacies and Mile Bluff Medical Center outpatient utilization to verify adherence with the 340B program guidelines and standards.
- Prepare monthly 340B participation reports documenting utilization, savings, and exceptions or discrepancies.
- Audits 340B formulary pricing, potential alternatives, and possible additional savings because of formulary or 340B prime vendor program opportunities on a routine basis.
- Participate with pharmacy and executive leadership in planning, design, and implementation of strategic initiatives affecting the retail pharmacy or its satellite dispensing sites.
- Oversee the management and use of the pharmacy portion of the EMR.
- Oversee the management of pharmaceutical and hazardous waste to the extent that it affects the medication provided by the hospital pharmacy.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements :
Professional Pharmacy degree required. Doctorate preferred.Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Pharmacist License.BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.5+ years of hospital pharmacy related work experience preferred.A minimum of 2 years involvement with the 340B drug program.Apexus 340B University completion within 12 months of employment.Apexus 340B Ace Certification with 18 months of employment.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Working knowledge and understanding of retail pharmacy practice.Working knowledge and understanding of teh 340B drug program.Excellent computer skills and knowledge of computer software, including programs such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.Organization and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects while delivering quality service and achieving business results.Able to manage difficult or high intense circumstances and make sound business decisions with little direction.Ability to build and establish effective working partnerships with employees, peers, and / or leaders to achieve business objectives.Knowledge of emerging trends in pharmacy practice and business and how it will impact our operations.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
