Director of Instructional Technology

Job Description :

The Director of Instructional Technology provides innovative leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of instructional technology across Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS). The Director ensures that instructional technology practices align with the division's strategic plan and technology plan.

The Director of Instructional Technology is a member of the Technology Services leadership team, supervises the Technology Integration Specialists, advances digital equity, and builds staff capacity to use technology effectively, ethically, and responsibly. The Director collaborates with division leaders, school administrators, and instructional staff to create an environment for equitable and innovative teaching and learning, and promote student data privacy. This role reports to the Chief Information Officer.

Qualifications :

• Education : Master's degree required.
• Certificates & Licenses : Valid Virginia Department of Education Postgraduate Professional license required, with the K-12 Administration and Supervision endorsement required, or the ability to obtain the endorsement.
• Experience : At least 3 years of teaching experience and 5 years of experience with educational technology. Leadership or supervisory experience in a public or private school system preferred.
