Job description

LocumJobsOnline is working with AAS Locum Tenens to find a qualified Neurosurgery PA in Brooklyn, New York, 11202!

About The Position

The Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery

plays a vital role in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of neurosurgical

patients, working closely with the supervising physician. The PA is responsible

for obtaining patient medical histories, conducting initial and periodic

physical examinations, and ordering necessary lab tests and diagnostic

procedures for comprehensive patient evaluation. They assess patient

conditions, suggest differential diagnoses, and assist in formulating and

implementing treatment plans.

The PA prescribes medications, orders

fluids and diets (with physician countersignature), and ensures accurate

documentation in patient medical records. Responsibilities also include

performing laboratory and minor surgical procedures, such as drawing blood,

urinalysis, starting IV solutions, suturing lacerations, performing skin

biopsies, and managing superficial abscesses. The PA assists in surgical

emergencies, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and trauma care, and may

initiate emergency management in the physician's absence.

Additionally, the PA coordinates

consultations, monitors patient scheduling for specialized tests, and provides

patient education and counseling regarding preventive care and treatment

options. They conduct daily rounds to track patient progress, update charts,

and notify physicians of any condition changes.

Compensation :    $ 58.88 – $86.92  Per Hour

Qualifications :

BS Degree from an accredited

Physician Assistant Program.

Minimum of three (3) years of

experience required for Senior Physician Assistant status.

Strong written and interpersonal

skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Must be licensed and currently

registered as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
