We are seeking Burmese Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Burmese (Myanmar language) is a priority Southeast Asian language often required for asylum, refugee, and immigration cases.
Responsibilities
Provide real-time Burmese English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and confidentiality in immigration, asylum, and legal contexts.Comply with USCIS / DHS interpreter ethics and professional standards.Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge requests.Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Burmese and English.2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, refugee / asylum, medical, or government preferred).Strong understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 federal clearance.Compensation & Benefits
