Sourcing Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Specialist for a leading engineering group that designs and manufactures automated connection and electrification systems for ports, airports and industry worldwide located in Indianapolis, IN.

As a Sourcing Specialist focused on Direct and Indirect Spend Reduction within the durable consumer goods sector, you will play a pivotal role in our procurement efforts. Your primary responsibility will be to identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate favorable contracts, and implement strategies to reduce both direct and indirect spending. Your industry-specific experience will enable us to excel in cost optimization and remain competitive.

Main Tasks and Key Responsibilities:

Spend Analysis: Conduct comprehensive spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Supplier Evaluation: Evaluate and select suppliers based on industry expertise, quality, cost, and performance, ensuring alignment with spend reduction goals.
Direct Spend Optimization: Optimize direct spending categories such as raw materials, components, and production-related items.
Indirect Spend Optimization: Optimize indirect spending categories including office supplies, IT, facilities, and other non-production expenses.
Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers, leveraging your industry knowledge to secure favorable terms and pricing agreements
Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts to ensure compliance and favorable terms for both direct and indirect spend categories.
Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
Procurement Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute procurement strategies.
Budget Compliance: Ensure procurement activities align with the approved budget and financial forecasts.
Data Analysis: Utilize industry-specific data and analytics to drive insights and make informed decisions related to spending reduction efforts.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand technical product specifications and manufacturing processes to ensure sourcing strategies align with organizational needs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CIPS) is a plus.
3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, with a proven track record of reducing direct and indirect spend within the durable consumer goods sector.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret industry-specific financial data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with industry-specific suppliers.
Strong project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Knowledge of the consumer goods industry, including industry-specific best practices and regulatory compliance related to procurement.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools (MS Dynamics etc.)

Compensation: $80 - $120K.
