Controller

BECO, a vertically integrated real estate company in Hampton Roads, Virginia is looking for a self-motivated Controller with a sharp eye for detail.

You’ll join an experienced accounting team – having spent 13 years with BECO, our current CFO is retiring in 2026.

Our Controller has been promoted to CFO and will provide leadership and mentoring to this role.

Together, you’ll improve systems and processes, solve problems, and drive results.

This position plays a key role in ensuring financial transparency and, operational efficiency.

Responsibilities :

• As Controller, you will be responsible for leading accounting operations and financial reporting across BECO’s business units.
• You’ll serve as a collaborative thought partner to the executive team and department leaders.

Key responsibilities include :

Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team.  Requirements :

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with ERP / accounting systems Exceptional leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Demonstrates a balance of confidence, initiative and humility — a professional who brings expertise to the table while remaining open to feedback and committed to collaborative teamwork Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Preferred :
