We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in general ledger management, month-end close processes, and account reconciliation. This position is based in Leawood, Kansas.

Responsibilities :

• Manage and oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries in compliance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform detailed bank reconciliations and investigate any variances.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded properly.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data.
• Analyze financial records and provide insights for process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal controls.
• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
• Generate financial reports and summaries for review by management.
• Proven experience in accounting roles, with a focus on month-end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries.
• Expertise in account reconciliation and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
