RESPONSIBILITIES
Preconstruction
- Assist the Business Developer in understanding the customer's vision for each project
- Collaborate with the project team to create comprehensive business strategies aligned with project goals
- Assist in selecting design professionals tailored to specific project requirements for optimal outcomes
- Ensure thorough critique of every project estimate by knowledgeable peers within the construction group
Manage Project Design
Provide leadership in creating project estimates and the technical aspects of proposalsContribute to strategy development for all project estimates to align with objectivesLead or assist in preparing "scope of work" for vendor solicitationManage the creation of conceptual and detailed estimates, along with technical specifications for project proposalsOversee bid analysis and ensure selected bids cover project scope before contractingDirect the project design team effectivelyProject Execution
Meet or exceed customer expectations while achieving company benchmarks and upholding Corporate BeliefsMonitor project profitability, notifying managers of significant changes (+ / -) promptlyDelegate specific project responsibilities to team members, ensuring effective executionPrepare a list of project responsibilities for clear task assignmentNegotiate and document vendor / subcontracts agreements efficientlyEnsure completion of all construction drawings (seek input from Superintendent)Provide project forecast updates in Viewpoint monthly at a minimum.Monitor project cost variances and inform relevant stakeholders, researching cost-effective solutionsManage overall project profitability in collaboration with the project SuperintendentFacilitate client and subcontractor meetings, maintaining meeting notes and agendasBuild and nurture client relationships for project successMentor and train subordinates to enhance team performanceParticipate in sales strategy sessions to support project goalsContinuously seek cost-saving and process improvement strategies for project efficiencyCapably handle multiple projects and estimates simultaneously, leveraging Procore for comprehensive project managementCreate and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project for effective time managementEffectively leverage the time of Supervisor / Superintendent for optimal project executionEnforce the highest safety standards on all projects and with all direct reports to maintain a secure working environmentQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
~4-7 years of internal or external experience in a similar role or education equivalent. Specialized expertise in multiple systems, processes, and market sectorsEducation or Education Equivalent : 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction, or Architecture from an accredited College or University. Other related degrees accepted if supported by construction-oriented coursework or relevant experienceDemonstrates exceptional proficiency in complex systems, processes, and market sectors; oversees work execution of varying size and complexity with support; mentors and trains others effectively; manages cross-functional teamsProficient knowledge of Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, as well as estimating and project management utilizing cost accounting software (Viewpoint preferred) and ProcoreCapable of training and advising others effectivelyQuick to grasp new systems, processes, or market sectorsDemonstrates effective communication skills with diverse teamsIndividual Contributor with Training and Advisory responsibilitiesAbility to comprehend and communicate effectively with diverse audiences through various mediums, including written reports, business correspondence, and presentationsProficiency in numerical calculations, including discounts, percentages, and basic algebraic conceptsCapacity to analyze problems, gather data, and make informed decisions based on factual evidence, while also interpreting technical instructionsBENEFITS
