Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position requiring a NJ or compact license and strong critical care skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Pediatric ICU of a hospital with a 19-bed unit
  • Patient population includes critically ill children, including those with cardiac needs
  • Required to float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed based on skillset and hospital demands
  • Shifts are 3x12 hour days, 7 : 00 to 19 : 30, with every other weekend required
  • Patient ratio averages 1 : 2 or greater, based on acuity and census
  • Utilizes Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring equipment
  • Experience with BiPAP / CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies is required
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system is Epic; experience preferred
  • Responsible for managing complex pediatric ICU cases including cardiac and respiratory support
  • Floating to related pediatric units is mandatory within the nurse's skillset
  • Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignment
  • Navy blue scrubs are required for all shifts
  • Modules and EPIC charting training must be completed prior to starting
  • Time off (RTO) must be requested prior to offer; no changes allowed once onsite
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate

  • Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of PICU critical care experience with at least 1 year of documented cardiac experience
  • Experience with pediatric telemetry and advanced respiratory support required
  • Previous employment with specified health system requires at least a 1-year separation before eligibility
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
