RN Manager – Emergency Room

Full-Time | No Weekends Location :

|Salem, VA Shifts Available : 2 Positions : Main Emergency Department (Days & Off-Shift) 1 Position : Free-Standing Emergency Department Compensation : $42.55 – $58.03 per hour (Based on Experience) Relocation Assistance : $1,500 Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced RN Emergency Room Manager to lead emergency care teams at a 500+ bed acute care hospital .

This role is responsible for managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing patient care quality in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED) setting.

Key Responsibilities

Department Leadership & Management Assume responsibility for unit management in the absence of the Director .

Plan resources efficiently to manage workload and emergency cases .

Develop and review unit policies and procedures to enhance patient care.

Staff Development & Coordination Assist with hiring, training, and evaluating ED staff .

Ensure staff compliance with licensure, certifications, and training requirements .

Facilitate orientation for new employees, students, and volunteers .

Patient Care & Quality Improvement Maintain open communication with other departments for coordinated care.

Ensure high-quality patient outcomes through best practices and compliance .

Requirements 🔹 Education :

Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (Required) BSN Preferred or active enrollment in a BSN program 🔹 Licensure & Certifications : Active RN License in Virginia (or compact multi-state RN license) BLS (Required) | ACLS (Within 1 year) | PALS (Within 1 year) Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Required 🔹 Experience : ER Management Experience Required Charge Nurse experience (1 year = 1 year credit) Staff RN experience (3 years = 1 year credit) Emergency Department Manager experience (1 year = 1 year credit) Why Join Us?
