Electrical Engineer-Onsite (Warren, RI)
About the Role
American Ecotech is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems that power our environmental monitoring instruments. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on diverse projects that combine electronics, sensors, and data systems to deliver precise, reliable environmental measurements. You’ll collaborate closely with mechanical and software engineers to bring new technologies from concept to deployment while supporting and enhancing existing product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits, PCB layouts, and wiring harnesses for air quality and emissions monitoring systems
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, BOMs, and related documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical, mechanical, and software systems
- Perform prototype testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electronic assemblies
- Ensure designs comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards (FCC, CE, UL, etc.)
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and external partners on electrical systems and instrumentation
- Research and evaluate components and technologies for performance, reliability, and cost optimization
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing product designs and engineering practices
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplineProficiency in PCB design software such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or KiCadStrong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, signal conditioning, and power systemsExcellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a hands-on approach to problem solvingStrong communication and collaboration skills across technical teamsDesirable Skills
Experience with microcontrollers, data acquisition systems, and embedded electronicsFamiliarity with instrumentation interfaces such as RS-232, RS-485, Modbus, and EthernetExperience in environmental instrumentation or sensor integrationKnowledge of EMC / EMI testing and compliance proceduresWhat We Offer
