Financial Accountant

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : assist in all areas of the Finance Department including the preparation of financial documents and reporting, journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and assisting with the tracking and updating of various data points.
Accountabilities :
- Prepare, verify, analyze, and maintain with accuracy account, financial, or transactional data records with posting to the general ledger or appropriate software.
- Assist and back-up to daily reconciliations and accounts payable function.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial and data reports.
- Reconcile various accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Assist with documentation and preparation of regulatory reports.
- Analyze accounts for potential issues and correct as appropriate.
- Coordinate special projects for support of all departments within the bank.
- Support the annual process as it relates to external auditors, internal auditors, and bank examiners.
- Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
- Assist and back-up fixed asset reporting, state and local agency reporting, prepaid and accrual entry, period closing and consolidation reporting processes as directed.
- Collaborate with other departments to gain efficiencies in process and procedures.
- Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the USA PATRIOT ACT (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), including reporting suspicious activities to the BSA Department as well as other banking and company regulations and rules.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Competencies :

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance - CPA License preferred but not required
Skills Needed :
