We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manager of Capital to lead the management and optimization of capital equipment inventory across our facilities. This individual will oversee equipment repairs, coordinate loaner equipment, track KPIs, manage the movement of equipment between locations, collaborate with vendors to ensure contract compliance, and support cost-saving initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, working knowledge of surgical instruments and systems, and a collaborative mindset to drive efficiency and maximize equipment utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management : Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all capital equipment across multiple facilities. Track equipment usage, depreciation, and lifecycle status to inform procurement and replacement decisions. Coordinate the relocation of equipment between sites to optimize usage and meet operational needs. Maintain detailed records of equipment status, service logs, and movement history. Use Microsoft Excel and other tools to organize data, track inventory, and identify usage trends. Lead and coordinate quarterly inventory audits across all sites.
  • Repair & Maintenance Oversight : Manage repair processes for capital equipment, ensuring timely service to minimize downtime. Coordinate with repair vendors to initiate service requests, monitor repair progress, and ensure clear, timely communication. Track service histories and performance metrics to identify recurring issues and inform preventative maintenance strategies. Ensure availability and management of loaner equipment during repair periods. Work with manufacturers to resolve warranty issues and facilitate cost-effective repairs and replacements.
  • Vendor & Contract Management : Collaborate with vendors to ensure adherence to contract terms and service-level agreements. Assist in negotiating service agreements, repair costs, and warranties to drive cost savings. Support the development and management of vendor contracts for capital equipment services.
  • KPI Tracking & Reporting : Develop and monitor KPIs related to equipment utilization, downtime, repair costs, and service efficiency. Leverage basic data analysis skills to support equipment planning and generate insights from usage trends. Create and distribute regular performance and cost reports to internal stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance : Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory tracking, equipment maintenance, and repair workflows. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with operations, finance, procurement, and clinical teams to align capital equipment strategies with organizational goals. Support capital planning and budgeting efforts with data-driven recommendations and equipment utilization insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in capital equipment management, inventory control, or a related role.
  • Working knowledge of endoscopic video equipment (e.g., towers, processors, light sources, and monitors).
  • Familiarity with minimally invasive surgical instruments such as scopes, cameras, and laparoscopic instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Effective time management with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Proactive, team-oriented, and solutions-focused approach.
  • CRCST Certification.
  • Experience in healthcare (Sterile Processing), medical equipment management, or a related industry.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance related to medical capital equipment.
  • Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • The environment is a fast-paced, 24 / 7 operation in hospitals, with exposure to bloodborne pathogens, disinfectants, and infectious materials. Personal protective equipment is required (eye protection, gloves, shoe covers, surgical cap, gown).
  • Travel : Approximately 20% home office / 80% travel to facilities for on-site equipment audits, evaluations, and vendor coordination.
  • Physical demands include walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds (with or without assistance), prolonged standing, and maneuvering equipment.
  • Compensation & Benefits

    This role is paid on an annual basis ranging from $65,000-$85,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Eligible for an annual bonus. Compensation decisions are based on skills, experience, responsibilities, and internal equity. Full benefits package includes medical, dental, vision coverage, paid time off, and retirement plan options.
