Pay Information $2,150 per week About The Position Job Title : Med / Tele / PCU RN Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Stepdown Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 12H Days EOW Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience License : Active RN License Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : PCU experience Ability to read strips Tele / cardiac experience Epic preferred Description : Department : Med / Tele RN Number of Beds : 32 Ratios : 1 : 4-5, occasional 5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow on the unit 1 : 3 Common diagnoses / types of patients include adults and geriatrics with cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, ETOH, Covid on BiPap, occasional general surgical patients with heart history, and medical patients with cardiac history, pneumonia, acute on chronic conditions, influenza, and sepsis. Experience with titrating drips is required. Common titratable and set rate drips include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low dose Dopamine. No Levo drips are used. There is a Charge Nurse on each shift, and they occasionally take a light load of 2-3 patients. There are nurse aides / patient care techs on this unit with a goal of 1 : 10 ratios. RNs are required to troubleshoot with RT equipment such as Bipap, trachs, and airvo. There are Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit with portable monitors and monitors in the rooms. RNs are required to read and interpret their own strips. Shifts are 7a-7p and 7p-7a. Rotating shifts will not occur more than weekly. Managers make the schedule and will consider blocked schedules based on unit needs. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. Holiday requirements are every other holiday. There is no call or standby requirement. RNs may float to all areas as helping hands, including full patient loads in PCU, full patient assignments in MS, and some ER Holds / boarding. Scrubs can be of any color. More of a tele / cardiac unit. Radius Rule : 50 miles. RTO is needed upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved after submissions. Charting System : EPIC BSN is not required.
