Description :

The Radiologic Technologist performs radiology procedures on patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.

They perform high-quality radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.

They maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.

They demonstrate an understanding of radiation dose reference levels and radiation dose monitoring.

They take appropriate actions if the estimated dose exceeds set reference levels, which may include patient follow-up.

They utilize effective communication methods with patients to ensure the correct exam is performed.

They instruct and communicate with patients and their families regarding the tests to be performed.

They prepare patients and areas for procedures by positioning patients and adjusting immobilization devices as needed.

They protect patients and colleagues by adhering to safety requirements and infection control policies.

They maintain equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards.

They work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment.

They report equipment issues to management or the appropriate department.

They assist in maintaining supplies inventory.

They ensure individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.

They obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation such as patient history and consent forms.

They maintain medical imaging records according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.

They are able to provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner in compliance with established standards.

They can perform tasks independently without routine oversight.

They maintain a calm and helpful attitude in stressful situations.

They effectively administer first aid as needed.

They ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and providing courteous service.

They demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills appropriate for various age groups.

They serve as a preceptor by providing quality training to new team members.

They are able to take call if required.
