Job Title : Safety Supervisor

Position Overview :

The Safety and Workers’ Compensation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing workplace safety programs, managing staff safety compliance, and administering the workers’ compensation process. This role ensures a safe and secure work environment, promotes a culture of safety, and manages Loss Prevention department ensuring workplace injury claims from reporting to resolution. The Supervisor works closely with the Director of Risk Management, Human Resources, with federal, state, and local safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee safety staff to ensure adherence to company safety policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews; identify operational errors and policy violations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate and resolve theft, fraud, and policy violation cases, documenting all findings.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs, briefings, and coaching to promote safe behaviors among employees.
  • Prepare and distribute daily and weekly reports detailing safety initiatives, incidents, and priorities.

Workers’ Compensation Responsibilities :

  • Serve as primary point of contact for all workers’ compensation claims.
  • Report workplace injuries promptly and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate medical care and evaluations for injured employees.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of injuries, incidents, and near misses, documenting findings and corrective actions.
  • Manage return-to-work and modified duty programs in collaboration with employees, supervisors, and medical providers.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers, claims adjusters, and management regarding claim status, trends, and resolutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, claims, and safety metrics, and provide reports for management and carrier reviews.
  • Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in workplace safety, loss prevention, or workers’ compensation administration.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and workers’ compensation regulations.
  • Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
  • Excellent communication, investigation, and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Proficient in safety documentation, claims tracking, and compliance reporting.
  • Working Conditions :

    Requires routine facility walk-throughs, employee interaction, and participation in incident responses. May involve occasional evening or weekend work depending on operational needs.
