Screw Machine Set up

Position Summary

The Screw Machine Set-Up Operator will set up and operate Davenport Model-B automatic screw machines (manual, cam-driven, non-CNC). This is a hands-on role requiring mechanical aptitude and experience in high-volume aerospace manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Davenport Model-B screw machines with five spindles.
• Perform manual changeovers (cams, tooling, components).
• Sharpen or replace cutting tools and drills as needed.
• Complete setups / changeovers in 1–4 hours.
• Conduct preventive maintenance checks (oil, air pressure, leaks).
• Inspect parts using calipers, comparators, and microscopes.
• Maintain tolerances of ±0.0006” and meet surface finish requirements.
• Complete FAIs and follow work instructions / prints (imperial & metric).
• Work with titanium and other aerospace-grade materials.
