Phlebotomy Technician II Medical Center North Liberty

The Department of Pathology is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform phlebotomy / specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy : labeling specimens telephone inquiries and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. Assists with the accessioning and labeling of other body fluid specimens such as urine. Transports specimens from the MCNL Outpatient Phlebotomy Draw Station to the main laboratory as needed.

There is 1 Phlebotomy Opening available between the three different levels :

80% time Tuesday-Thursday 1030-1900 and Friday 0930-1800

Duties to include :

• Performs all duties of a Phlebotomy Technician at assigned level.
• Performs complex and difficult specimen procurement processes.
• Instructs and trains others in phlebotomy techniques.
• Responds to or may direct responses to inquiries concerning phlebotomy policies and procedures.
• Performs data entry and computer tasks related to order entry and phlebotomy.

Pathology will be filling this position at one of three levels. The Phlebotomy Technician I classification salary is $36707.04 Phlebotomy Technician II classification salary is $37855.44 and the Phlebotomy Technician III salary is $39087.36. Salaries listed are at full-time and will be pro-rated based on % of time.
