Position Overview
The Intermediate System Administrator will help manage, monitor, and maintain the DOE / WIPP computing infrastructure. The ideal candidate thrives in technical environments, loves solving complex challenges, and has experience maintaining systems in compliance with strict NQA-1 quality and cybersecurity standards.
Support system operations, installations, upgrades, and backups for Linux, Solaris, and Windows environments.
Maintain BeeGFS storage systems, servers, and network performance.
Implement and manage scripts and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to improve efficiency and system reliability.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance and connectivity issues.
Assist with configuration management, security compliance, and QA documentation.
Participate in NQA-1 audits and maintain compliance records for DOE / WIPP systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline and 6 years of relevant experienceOR Associate’s degree and 8 years
OR 10 years of equivalent experience.
Minimum 6 months experience maintaining high-performance systems under NQA-1 QA or a similar regulated environment.
Familiarity with Linux, Solaris, and Windows server administration.
At least one of the following certifications : Bacula Systems Administrator, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Project+.
Experience in database and website administration, and remote network or system maintenance.
Clearance : Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance
