Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring a TX or compact RN license and proficiency in maternal and newborn care.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital environment
  • Responsible for adult and newborn patient populations
  • Unit consists of 6 beds with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 2
  • 12-hour night shifts ) with weekend work required
  • Floating to Mother Baby or women's services may be required within skill set
  • Common procedures include induction of labor, C-sections, augmentation, triage, and fetal monitoring
  • Use of Pitocin administration and Cerner for charting
  • Provide comprehensive care and monitoring during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
  • Collaborate with Mother Baby and women's services teams for patient support
  • Scrub color requirements determined by the unit
  • Comprehensive CMS compliance and fraud, waste, and abuse training required within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter
  • Holiday coverage may be required as determined by unit needs
  • Returning travelers to the health system are subject to eligibility review and break requirements

    • Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license
  • Current COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical / religious exceptions accepted)
  • Ability to perform special procedures such as C-sections and fetal monitoring
  • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
