SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Associate Director of the Annual Fund for Southside Christian School (SCS) will report to the Director of Development and is responsible for planning, directing, and executing a comprehensive annual giving program that supports the school's mission and strategic priorities. The Associate Director will build and strengthen relationships with all school constituencies-including parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, and staff-and solicit gifts that support the annual fund, known as "The Fund for SCS". This role requires a dynamic and experienced professional who is a strong Christ-follower and is committed to the mission, vision, and core values of Southside Christian School. This position requires the individual to be fully immersed in the SCS culture including athletic contests, parent organizations, fine arts performances, and Grandparent Days, etc. Additionally, the Associate Director must be a collaborative and highly organized self-starter with a proven track record of successful fundraising in an educational setting.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Fundraising Strategy and Execution : Develop, implement, and manage a multi-faceted annual giving strategy that increases unrestricted support, donor retention, and overall participation rates.
  • Donor Relations : Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of annual fund donors and identify prospects for major and planned giving.
  • Donor Meetings : Maintain a full schedule of donor meetings for both solicitation and cultivation of donors.
  • Donor Communications : Partner with the Marketing / Communications team to produce compelling annual fund appeals and marketing materials for print, digital, and social media channels.
  • Volunteer Management : Recruit, train, and manage fundraising volunteers to assist with peer-to-peer solicitations and fundraising events.
  • Data and Analysis : Manage the donor database to track gifts, generate reports, and analyze results to improve future annual fund efforts.
  • Events Management : Partner with the Marketing / Communications team assist in planning and executing fundraising and stewardship events, including annual giving days and donor recognition gatherings.
  • Team Collaboration : Collaborate with the Director of Development and other development team members to align annual giving with overall fundraising goals.
  • School Representation : Serve as a representative of SCS at various on- and off-campus events to cultivate donor relationships.
  • Other Duties : Assist the Director of Development and Head of School with other duties as assigned.

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :

  • Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ; be involved with an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice; and agree with the philosophies, Mission, Vision, Values, Biblical Beliefs, Statement of Faith of Southside Christian School and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School.
  • Must be willing to enroll eligible children at Southside Christian School.
  • Preferred consideration will be given to candidates who have a minimum of 5 years of progressive fundraising experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding annual fundraising goals, preferably in an independent school environment.
  • Experience in developing and executing multi-faceted solicitation strategies using direct mail, email, social media, and personal outreach.
  • Proven success in building and maintaining strong relationships with donors and prospects, including personal gift solicitation.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with fundraising databases, preferably Raiser's Edge, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • A firm commitment to the mission and statement of faith of Southside Christian School.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
