Manager, Admissions & Financial Aid
Assist the Office of Admission and Financial Aid in the support of the University's effort to attract qualified students through the timely and effective administration of student financial aid and admission counseling. Responsible for managing the admission-related loan counseling process for accepted students. Assist with institutional scholarship program management. Reports to the Financial Aid Director. Collaborate with the Senior Executive Director for admission counseling efforts.
Principal Functional Responsibilities :
- Financial Aid Loan Counseling and Shared Program Management :
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of accepted student financial aid loan counseling in alignment with institutional goals and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the administration of financial aid loan programs for newly accepted students, including federal and private loans.
- Meet directly with newly accepted students.
- Assist in the management of the preferred lender list and private loan comparison tools.
- May assist the financial aid staff with loan certification processes as part of the financial aid packaging team.
- Evaluate and award institutional scholarships to new and continuing students.
- Admission Counseling :
- Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of an accepted student financial counseling program.
- Support prospective and accepted students through recruitment into the initial term of enrollment with an emphasis on gap funding counseling through private loans.
- Work extensively with the admission staff to cross-train and collaboratively deliver timely and relevant counseling to promote accepted student enrollment.
- Meet with prospective and accepted students and families to present educational funding options and facilitate private loan applications.
- Reporting and Data Processing :
- Key user or primary administrator of one or more admission and financial aid systems.
- Analyze reporting needs and collaborate with staff to create reports that improve operations and assist with decisions.
- Compile mid-year and year-end reports to evaluate preferred lenders.
- Other Duties :
- Represent the admission and financial aid office on university and community committees in support of the director.
- May assist the directors with attending ongoing training and professional development to stay current with regulations and best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degreeMinimum 1 year of experience in a higher education financial aid office or related loan industry experience. Graduate assistantship employment is accepted in place of full-time employmentProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, video conferencing, and presentation softwareValid driver's license and ability to travel as necessaryPreferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related fieldEvidence of planning and program administration from prior employmentThree years of related financial aid loan experienceSales data system, Banner ERP, and CRM experienceWorking knowledge of financial aid websites and software, including but not limited to FSA Partner Connect websites, EdConnect, Elms and Fast ChoicePhysical Requirements :
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.
