About the Role
Join our team as a Secretary where you'll serve as the organizational backbone of our Adult Rehabilitation Center's Command. This vital role combines administrative excellence, professional communication, and mission-driven work to support The Salvation Army's life-changing programs. You'll work directly with leadership to ensure smooth daily operations and provide exceptional support to staff, visitors, and the community we serve.
Classification : Full Time / Hourly
Pay Rate : $16.00 per hour / Bi-weekly Pay
Work Hours : 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm- Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and Saturday hours may be needed)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage office communications and processes, serving as the primary point of contact in the Administrator's absence
- Provide exceptional support to visitors, staff, and community members with professionalism and warmth
- Compose and prepare daily correspondence, prioritizing responses and maintaining professional communication standards
- Answer calls, take messages, and route correspondence with impeccable customer service
- Manage schedules, calendars, email, and meetings for assigned supervisor
- Provide administrative support in an organized and timely manner
- Maintain orderly and accurate filing systems with strict attention to confidentiality
- Coordinate special projects and handle multiple priorities with excellent time management
- Handle complaint calls professionally in supervisor's absence
- Represent The Salvation Army at public and professional functions as assigned
- Independently carry out assignments and instructions with minimal supervision
What You'll Need to Succeed
Education & Experience
Associate's degree or higher preferredThree years' experience supporting an Executive or in a similar administrative roleRequired Skills & Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishProficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to maintain strict confidentiality at all timesStrong research and problem-solving abilitiesKnowledge of office management proceduresSelf-starter with ability to work independentlyOutstanding prioritization and multitasking capabilitiesPhysical Requirements

Work is performed in a typical office environment. This is a full-time position that may occasionally require weekend and evening work. Travel is rarely needed but may be required at times.
