Annual Pay Range : $80,869.32 - $103,558.83

Hourly Pay Range : $38.879479 - $49.787899

Job Details And Qualifications

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is seeking highly motivated, self-directed candidates with strong communication and interpersonal skills for Jail Deputy. This recruitment is open to applicants who are currently or have been certified as a basic Corrections Officer or Jail Deputy / Officer and have completed at least one (1) year of civilian law enforcement experience as a Jail Deputy / Officer within the last five (5) years. Military police experience does not qualify as lateral experience. Applicants not meeting this criteria will be inactivated. If you are not currently or have not been a CERTIFIED Corrections Officer or Jail Deputy / Officer with at least one (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years, please apply for the Jail Deputy, Recruit position when it's posted for application.

Important Information

All Sheriff's Office positions require a complete Statement of Personal History (SPH). Only those applicants selected will need to submit the SPH. The SPH is due 10 calendar days AFTER you have been notified. Applicants will receive instructions from the Department of Human Resources or the Sheriff's Office on how to login to the electronic SPH.

Required Minimum Qualifications / Transferrable Skills :

• Must be currently or have been certified as a basic Corrections Officer or Jail Deputy / Officer with at least one (1) year of civilian law enforcement experience as a Jail Deputy / Officer within the last five (5) years.
• Must be 21 years of age by date of employment.
• Must be a United States citizen or be one within eighteen (18) months of hire.
• Must possess a high school diploma, GED certificate of high school equivalency, or bachelor degree from an accredited institution.
• Must be free from convictions of a serious nature, such as domestic violence, drug-trafficking and manufacturing, and any felony.
• Must be willing to be fingerprinted and have fingerprints filed with the State.
• Must meet the Minimum Standards for Employment as a Law Enforcement Officer as provided for in Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) 259-008-0010.
• Must successfully pass an extensive background investigation, including national fingerprint records check.
