Must-Have : General ED experience, critical care experience for ICU holds, trauma experience

Description :

Traveler will work in various areas including Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Medical Surgical.

This facility is a 35-bed acute care facility.

The Emergency Department has 9 treatment spaces, including 8 beds and 1 hallway space.

The Intensive Care Unit has 4 beds.

The Medical Surgical unit has 20 beds.

Patient types include all age groups.

Patients may present with conditions such as sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, alcohol withdrawal, acute respiratory distress syndrome, myocardial infarction, trauma, and stroke.

Patient ratios in the Emergency Department are 1 : 3-4.

In the Intensive Care Unit, ratios are 1 : 1-2, depending on acuity and age.

For Medical Surgical, ratios are 1 : 5, also dependent on acuity and age.

Travelers must live more than 100 miles away from the facility.

Permanent staff must wait one full year to return as a traveler.

The charge nurse acts as the hospital coordinator.

Phlebotomy services are available.

An IV / VAT team is not available.

Resource nurse duties are handled by the same personnel as the charge nurse.

Respiratory therapy is available.

A hospitalist is present, with Advanced Practice Provider coverage at night.

The charting system used is EPIC.

If trained in all areas, travelers may be floated to Emergency Department, Medical Surgical, or ICU.

Weekend rotation is required every other week.

There is no on-call requirement.

Holiday requirements include working every other holiday.

Time off requests can be approved for up to 7 days, with an extension of the contract by one week for every week missed.

Scrub color is navy blue.
