Position Purpose :
The Assistant Warehouse Manager supports the Warehouse Manager in overseeing the daily operations of a warehouse. Here are some of their key responsibilities : inventory management, staff supervision, safety and compliance, logistics coordination, process improvement, quality control, reporting and documentation, equipment maintenance, customer service, and budget management. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively support the Warehouse Manager and ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Major Functional Responsibilities :
Assist in the management of inventory levels, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.Help supervise and manage warehouse staff, including training and scheduling.Ensure that safety standards and procedures are followed to maintain a safe working environment.Coordinate with suppliers, transport companies, and customers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.Identify areas for improvement and assisting in implementing process enhancements to increase efficiency.Ensure that products are stored and handled correctly to maintain quality and prevent damage.Assist in maintaining accurate records and preparing reports on warehouse activities and performance.Helping to oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment.Address customer inquiries and resolving issues related to warehouse operations.Assist in managing the warehouse budget and controlling expenses.Performs other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree - Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related fieldPractical experience in warehouse settings is essential.Experience in leading and managing teams is highly preferred.Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management, and logistics software.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Understanding and implementing safety standards and procedures.Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.Division : Cheney Brothers & Affiliates
