Responsibilities
- Acts as an adviser to the Dean and the senior management team
- Ensure effective crisis management, evaluate immediate actions, and communicate with the Gould community to minimize damage and restore direction
- Partner with the Dean to develop and implement long-range strategic priorities
- Track progress on institutional goals and support alignment across departments
- Assist the Dean in facilitating effective decision-making
- Assess inquiries directed to the Dean, determine proper course of action, and delegate to the appropriate individual
- Lead or support major cross-functional projects and initiatives on behalf of the Dean
- Ensure staff issues are addressed properly and track progress until resolved
- Oversee planning of committee meetings and coordinate activities through involvement in councils, committees, or task forces
- Plan and direct staff, budget administration, space allocation, equipment, workflow, and operational philosophy
- Serve as primary contact for external coordination with offices, senior management, the Board of Trustees, donors, and other contacts; oversee events and special projects
- Manage the Dean's schedule, priorities, and briefings to ensure effective use of time
- Assist with final exam administration and proctoring at the end of Fall and Spring semesters and during commencement
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Education or a related field required; J.D. strongly preferred5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in executive leadership, strategic planning, or administration, preferably in higher education or a legal environmentImpeccable managerial, communication, and interpersonal skillsVisionary thinkerProven track record of effectively interacting with senior management or performing project management duties in the education fieldAbility to work strategically and collaboratively across departmentsEffective, versatile and action-orientedExcellent public relations and communication skills / experienceProven record of personnel and budget administrationStrong judgment, diplomacy, and leadership presenceAdditional information

The annual base salary range for this position is $157,443.69 – 175,000.00.
