Sugar Foods LLC is a privately owned company with production facilities in Georgia, Massachusetts, California, and Mexico, with additional offices in Westlake, CA and Summit, NJ. Whiteland, IN is our new distribution facility. Our products are sold and distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada. Sugar Foods manufactures and packages croutons, tortilla chips, crispy toppings, as well as cheese-based toppings. Additionally, Sugar Foods packages a variety of items including sugar, sweeteners, powdered creamer, and dried fruits and nuts.

Position Summary for Distribution Supervisor
This position will report to the Warehouse Manager. This role will be responsible for the overall effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the Distribution Center. Working with others, this role will be responsible for driving sustainable operating cost reductions and efficiency gains in the facility. At the same time this role will build an entrepreneurial culture amongst the teams and empower employees to develop and bring forward ideas and solutions to various issues that may come up from time to time. The Distribution Supervisor removes obstacles for his or her team, role model a safety & quality mindset, good judgement, empathy, and a customer and family-centric approach, with emphasis on safety first, and attention to shipping product at the highest quality. The ability to effectively analyze and synthesize large amounts of data will be critical for a person to succeed in this role. In dealing with a team, being a good communicator and an inspiring leader to drive change management are necessary skills.
Job Responsibilities of a Distribution Supervisor
- Always ensure the safety of teammates
- Ensure all customer orders are picked and loaded in a timely manner
- Receive all inbounds in a timely manner
- Communicate with the customer care and inventory teams around inventory availability
- Identify improvement opportunities, and provide solutions to execute upon these opportunities
- Inspire and encourage team members with clear feedback and goals
- Celebrate success and show appreciation for the contributions of team members
- Serve your team and remove obstacles ensuring the team has the tools it needs to be successful
- Be present on the floor, with purpose, and continuously engage your team throughout the shift
- Develop team members and engage them to be proactive problem solvers
- Drive overall performance of your team to meet or exceed productivity targets and goals
- Manage and oversee schedules, crewing, and head count
- Ensure team adherence to GMP’s and PPE
- Ensure successful start-up and shift hand-off
- Communicate and review shift reports, identifying trends and opportunities
- Identify and implement training opportunities for the team
- Work with HR to onboard, develop and train new hires

Job Requisites and Experience
2+ years of hands-on distribution supervisory experienceExperience in working in a food & beverage distribution center is a plusStrong background and working knowledge of distributionExperience in identifying talent, developing, coaching, and building teamsGoals / Objectives
