We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Georgia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities :
- Prepare and review comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Execute month-end and year-end closing processes with precision and timeliness.
- Manage general ledger operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable / receivable.
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is prepared.
- Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis to guide business decisions.
- Perform detailed financial analyses to assist in evaluating profitability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee fixed asset tracking, including depreciation schedules and reconciliations.
- Mentor and guide less experienced accounting team members, fostering their growth.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a master's degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle, NetSuite, or similar systems is preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex data analysis.
- Experience with corporate tax, sales tax, and preparing corporate tax returns.
- Proven ability to manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
