🛠️ Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sterile Field Management : Establish and maintain a sterile field for all surgical procedures, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques.Instrumentation : Prepare the necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for the specific surgical procedure.Intraoperative Support : Pass instruments, sponges, and supplies to the surgeon and assistant surgeon during the procedure, anticipating their needs.Specimen Handling : Handle surgical specimens correctly and hand them off appropriately to circulating staff.Inventory Control : Perform accurate sponge, sharp, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse at required intervals.Equipment Operation : Assist with the care, cleaning, and preparation of specialized surgical equipment and instrumentation.✅ Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements :
Program Completion : Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program from an accredited institution .Military Training : Applicable military surgical technician training.Direct Experience : Two (2) years of recent, verifiable experience as a Surgical Technologist.Certifications
