Job Description
This role will assist in the nursing care and preparation of obstetrical and / or obstetrical-surgical patients. Function as a member of the sterile team in donning gown and gloves, creating and maintaining a sterile field, and issuing instruments to surgeons.
Key responsibilities include :
Perform basic invasive procedures to include blood draws and catheterizations; assist in deliveries
Assist with complicated procedures to include amniocentesis, PBS and emergency cesarean section scrub; set up / clean delivery rooms; prepare and drape patient and operating area; prepare and maintain sterile field for surgical procedures
Provide basic patient care and make rounds; report and record any changes observed in patient behavior or condition, or unusual incidents
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes. They will also identify and report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and / or near misses in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following qualifications :
High School or GED Equivalent
Medical Assistant Program
1 year directly related experience
CPR for Healthcare / BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w / in 30 days

$20.82 / hr - $31.24 / hr

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable working with chemicals, bio hazardous materials, and limited access to medication rooms. Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as required.
