Job description

Overview : Join a dedicated healthcare team supporting physicians and licensed medical staff in a busy orthopedic and sports medicine clinic located in the Southeastern United States. This full-time day position offers a rewarding opportunity to assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring excellent patient care and smooth clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support physicians by obtaining patient vital signs, updating charts, and compiling relevant data in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Administer patient care under supervision, including treatments, dressing changes, medication administration, and therapies.
  • Assist providers during procedures and examinations, including chaperoning and setup.
  • Collect and process lab and pathology samples, perform quality and safety checks on testing equipment, and maintain infection prevention standards.
  • Manage biohazard and pharmaceutical waste disposal according to OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked clinical environment.
  • Perform front desk duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and assisting with coding and billing processes.
  • Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans.
  • Monitor electronic health record communications and respond promptly.
  • Float to other clinics as needed to support patient care.

Education and Certifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with successful certification from recognized organizations such as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NRCMA.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience :

  • At least one year of clinical experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations and activate emergency services.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.
  • Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Comfort with potential exposure to blood or infectious materials.
