Overview : Join a dedicated healthcare team supporting physicians and licensed medical staff in a busy orthopedic and sports medicine clinic located in the Southeastern United States. This full-time day position offers a rewarding opportunity to assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring excellent patient care and smooth clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support physicians by obtaining patient vital signs, updating charts, and compiling relevant data in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
- Administer patient care under supervision, including treatments, dressing changes, medication administration, and therapies.
- Assist providers during procedures and examinations, including chaperoning and setup.
- Collect and process lab and pathology samples, perform quality and safety checks on testing equipment, and maintain infection prevention standards.
- Manage biohazard and pharmaceutical waste disposal according to OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked clinical environment.
- Perform front desk duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and assisting with coding and billing processes.
- Coordinate with external healthcare partners to support patient care plans.
- Monitor electronic health record communications and respond promptly.
- Float to other clinics as needed to support patient care.
Education and Certifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program with successful certification from recognized organizations such as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NRCMA.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Experience :
At least one year of clinical experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.Skills and Abilities :
Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening situations and activate emergency services.Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and providers both in person and via phone.Physical ability to perform clinical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.Comfort with potential exposure to blood or infectious materials.
