The Industrial Repair & Support Technician is responsible for performing precision repairs, maintenance, and fabrication support across a wide range of industrial equipment and components. This role requires expertise in machining, welding, and mechanical assembly, as well as the ability to inspect, diagnose, and document equipment condition. This role supports hose fabrication and custom fastener production, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer expectations for efficiency, reliability, and on-time delivery.
Essential Functions
- Equipment Repair & Maintenance
Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble pumps, blowers, and mechanical seals.
Perform welding tasks (TIG, MIG, Stick) when required for repairs or modifications.Operate and maintain conventional machining equipment, welding equipment, hydraulic presses, electric forklift, dynamic balancers, and lifting devices.Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges).Machining & Fabrication SupportPlan and layout work from mechanical drawings and manufacturer specifications.
Determine appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for machining tasks.Assist hose fabrication with crimped hose development and fastener production with custom thread studs.Documentation & CommunicationAccurately document inspections, wear conditions, and repair findings.
Prepare and submit all forms, data, and reports for customer quotations.Communicate effectively with inside sales, team members, and customers to ensure clarity and accuracy.Safety & ComplianceFollow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and machine operating procedures.
Maintain compliance with company policies and training requirements.Record accurate and timely data on Microsoft Office software.Maintenance & HousekeepingPerform preventive maintenance on machines and tools.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.Continuous Improvement & TeamworkParticipate in problem-solving and non-conformance investigations.
Suggest process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.Support team collaboration, efficiency, and customer-focused service delivery.Required Experience / Education
HS Diploma / GEDMinimum of 2 years (5+ years preferred) of experience in conventional lathe and milling operations is preferred with good knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, and material propertiesMinimum of 2 years (5+ years preferred) of experience with industrial pump repairWelding certificate and / or solid experience weldingExperience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gaugesAbility to read and understand drawings and geometric tolerancesCertified for forklift operationBenefits
