Job description

Overview

HVAC Technical Support Specialist III role at Addison HVAC. Technical phone and / or field support on controls and service for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support (troubleshooting) by responding to inquiries regarding maintenance, repair, and parts orders.
  • Provide installation supervision and factory start-up as required of equipment.
  • Provide field warranty service and / or warranty repair as required on existing installations.
  • Train employees and representatives in maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Training of Addison controls to field technicians, during Training Classes and via phone support for technicians in the field.
  • Other duties as they are assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Travel 20% – 40%

    • Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate degree in electronics or 3-4 years technical service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Requirements / Skills / Abilities

  • Computer skills in various software programs – Word for Windows, Excel, AutoCad, etc.
  • Working knowledge of standard engineering diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, amp probes, psychrometers, thermometers, etc.
  • Basic understanding of brazing refrigeration joints.
  • Good understanding of the refrigeration cycle relating to heating and cooling.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret product literature, Installation, Operation & Service manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers and employees of the organization.
  • Handles complex issues and problems and performs work under minimal supervision.
